Naturhotel Saalerwirt

A wonderful family-owned hotel that is definitely worth the trip. In fact, it’s one of the better hotel experiences I’ve had (and I’ve had many). The spa/sauna is very spacious and filled with natural light. The food is wonderful - the chef deserves a Michelin star. We stayed in one of the modern rooms which was fine, but next time we will try a classic room to compare. Looking forward to returning.

We didn’t stay in the hotel, but we came here just for the restaurant and I have to say that it is absolutely worth it. We had the finferli and potato tartare, gnocchi and the goulash. Everything was absolutely really good and super tasty. As a dessert we had the Canederlo Dolce all’ albicocca ( sweet Canederlo stuffed with apricot) and I have to say this must be listed into the UNESCO heritage. It is absolutely a MUST to try

TLDR; Do all you can to stay here, even if it means jumping on a transatlantic flight especially to visit this place. I don’t write reviews but this time I just had to. I found this hotel by accident, shamefully I got lost in the area and entered asking for directions, they were the nicest I have ever experienced in my 20 years of travel… The view is exceptional and the aroma from the kitchen was incredible…you know those moments where time doesn’t matter anymore and your destination looses focus… well… this was one of those moments….I thought the rest of my travel can wait a day, let’s see the rooms, entered a suite and rushed to the reception to lock it in :), it’s special not over the top but very much a this-is-home…fantasy-cozy-home feel. Dinner was delicious fresh and very interesting, Michelin stars level but without the fuss … service was top. If you are looking for a magical experience, choose this one.
